Scarlet Fever

Since the beginning of January, the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Unit (IDCU) has seen an increase in the number of reported cases of Scarlet Fever. Although no epidemiological link between the cases could be identified, it is important that the situation is kept under close surveillance.

Scarlet fever is a notifiable disease. In view of the epidemiological significance of such cases, one should report all cases to the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Unit giving the particulars of the index case and in this case also the details of the school attended.
